Avira agrees international sales partnerships with distributors and computer retailers

The distribution of IT security solutions via the indirect channel is on the increase.
Tettnang, 29 May 2006 - Avira has gained further important channel partners: As from now the distributors TLK, Maily and LxPn as well as the computer retailer Bechtle will make sure that the professional IT security solutions of Avira reach the customers through the corresponding channels. The reason behind those partnerships is the strategic new orientation of the sales concept. In order to strongly position on the international market, the IT security solutions are provided by Avira through a new partner program in the indirect sales via channel partners and selected distributors. Avira has currently 220 resellers and is actively working on the development of its network. By the end of the year Avira will have a qualified and international sales structure, which will be formed by a total of 400 channel partners.
Since every partner has its own special area, the successful change to the new sales model as well as the systematic expansion and increasing market penetration of the Avira products is guaranteed.
TLK Distributions GmbH, which is located in Munster, Munich and Berlin, is among the leading high-end solution distributors in the IT security area and networks. The business has started to expand its comprehensive product and solution portfolio and will now offer resellers and Internet service providers the entire AntiVir product range with the service performances and know how of an experienced value added distributor.
The Bechtle group is at the disposal of Avira as a competent partner for IT solutions attending medium-sized companies. Bechtle nearly covers the whole system network with approx. 60 sites in Germany and Switzerland. Bechtle mainly focuses on medium-sized customers of the IT-strategy consulting regarding the supplement of hardware and software, project management and execution of projects, system integration, maintenance and training. Furthermore, the company distributes IT products under the brand 'Bechtle direkt' via the Internet and catalogue in nine countries of Western Europe. All Avira products can be obtained from the software retailer as well as the E-Commerce business line of Bechtle in the future.
LxPN is an ideal partner for resellers and users concerning the realization of complex Linux projects. Innovative solutions that are in line with the market concerning Linux constitute the base of the product and producer policy. The portfolio is continually expanded with ‘state-of-the-art’ products of Red Hat and Novell with the Avira Linux solutions.
The fourth new sales partner is Maily Distribution. The business, which was founded in 1990 and is located in Sindelfingen near Stuttgart has established with over 18,000 satisfied customers on the German market. Maily Distribution is an ideal partner for the specialized trade, computer retailers or value added resellers and has included the entire Avira product range into its portfolio.
‘We give high priority that our channel partners have a professional sales department, support, training and consulting’, explains Detlef Langrock, Avira Director Sales for Germany, Austria and Switzerland. ‘IT security requires more and more consulting and the specialist traders and resellers can visualize the customers requirements better. This cooperation enables us to develop yet more individual solutions and the sales partners make sure this information reaches the users.’
