Avira is advanced plus!

Tettnang, 14 March 2008 – In February AV Comparatives tested the detection rates of the world's sixteen most important virus scanners. As always Avira AntiVir Premium was amongst the test candidates, convincingly demonstrating its unique performance.

AV Comparatives of Austria is an internationally renowned project group that regularly tests the performance of the world's most important virus protection programs in the categories of virus detection, proactive detection, scanning speed, and frequency of false alarms.

In the latest test in February 2008 the detection rates of sixteen antivirus solutions were tested. The programs were exposed to around 1.7 million viruses, worms, backdoors, trojans, and other forms of harmful software.

Avira AntiVir Premium, which is available for EUR 19.95 on Avira.com, detected 99.6% of the viruses in the test. That makes it the front-runner of all programs that work with a single scan engine. The test's verdict speaks for itself: Advanced plus with three stars.
