Systemadministrator (m/f) Linux

Your responsibilities will focus on maintaining and expanding our existing Linux-Infrastructure in a heterogeneous server infrastructure. The technical focus will be the administration of our version management tools as well as the administration of our Web- and FTP-Servers. You are part of our on call emergency service and responsible for internal customer inquiries. Furthermore, you are executing IT projects in Linux environments and take over the task of implementation, conception coordination.

Your challenges and responsibilities

• Administration and expanding the existing Linux-Server-Infrastructure
• Ensure the continuous operation of our high availability version control systems (CVS, GIT and SVN) and assisting us on expanding and managing these systems
• Implementing new technologies in the existing Linux-Enterprise and Cluster environment which match the highest availability requirements
• Administration of the already used Linux-Server-Applications (Apache, Postfix, Samba, BIND, DHCP) in Cluster-environments
• You provide community platforms for more than 100 million customers together with the team
• Supporting the team to monitor the various Linux- and Windows-Systems and the running applications (with Nagios) with common analysis tools
• Performing of Security- and Performance analysis as well optimizing on the used systems
• Resolving and documentation technical issues on the managed systems
• Administration and customizing free Web Framework solutions
• More than 500 national and international employees benefit from your know-how of the internal user support

Your professional background and qualifications

• Education and training in computer science
• Several years of work experience as Linux-Administrator combined with administration experience in the field of source code management CVS, GIT (GitHub Enterprise) und Subversion
• Experience with PKI certificate management and the provision of public certificates
• Experience in implementing and administrating Nagios-Systems
• Deep knowledge about Linux / Postfix / Mailman / LDAP / Varnish
• Experience regarding constructing and operating of Cluster-Systems within a Linux environment (Apache, GlusterFS)
• Very good knowledge about MySQL-databases
• Practical experience in the field of Shell-Scripting (Bash, Python)
• Solid knowledge regarding heterogeneous network infrastructure
• Ability to work in a team and customer orientation
• Solving challenges with self-sufficiency, target orientation, analytical approach and self-organization
• Good communication skills regarding the communication with employees and customers
• Flexible in arranging yourself to diverse requirements
• Fluent English and good German language skills (or the aspiration for learning German with our support)

Desirable additional skills

• Experience in administrating firewalls
• Administration experience in a surrounding of OTRS, Mediawiki, Wordpress, Redmine
• Basic knowledge in PHP, Perl
• Knowledge about software load balancing
• Experience with Gentoo Linux
