We are looking to immediately fill the position of
Software Localiser (m/f)
Working directly at the point where customers encounter our products, you will make an important contribution to Avira's global expansion. All of our customers should be able to access our software in their own language. You will develop new language versions of our software for Windows, Unix and Mac OS and will monitor the quality thereof and will optimise program interfaces.
Our challenges:
- You will implement new software localisation projects in close co-operation with developers and will organise deliveries, including quality control.
- You will optimise and manage existing foreign-language products on an ongoing basis and will maintain complete documentation of your progress.
- Your will contribute to this process by increasing the degree of automation in all phases of software localisation.
- You will ensure that data relating to terminology, translation memories and glossaries is up-to-date at all times.
Your qualifications:
- Extensive experience in software localisation and related processes
- Sound programming skills in Windows (C/C++ and ideally VB Script)
- Minimum 2 years experience in Windows, Unix and MAC OS environments
- Quick adaptation of complicated relationships
- An acute awareness of responsibility as well as commitment
- Strong ability to work independently and in a team
- Strong command of written and spoken English
Desirable additional skills:
- Experience using localisation tools such as Passolo, RCWinTrans
- Expertise in using terminology systems and translation memories
- Experience with SQL Server, ideally MySQL, Python
- Knowledge of network protocols (i.e. TCP/IP, UDP, SMTP, FTP, POP3)
- German language proficiency
- Russian language proficiency
