Software Engineer (m/f) for Test Automation

In the agile software development, our products are continually developed and updated daily at our customers surroundings. Innovations and basic product must be tested continually to ensure functionality. Your task is to develop test cases parallel to the product developers and to immediately automate these per software. All tests can thus be quickly accessed and run so to say "overnight". Your goal is to achieve near 100% test automation.

Our challenges:

• Development and optimization of test cases and scenarios for the quality assurance of the Avira product range
• Automation of test cases and scenarios
• Planning, design, implementation, evaluation, and documentation of the developed test cases and scenarios
• Development and maintenance of applications for the quality assurance of the Avira product range in all areas of computer security (e.g. Antivirus, Firewall, Antispam, Host Intrusion Prevention)
• Setup, operation, and maintenance of test platforms and hardware; expansion of the test infrastructure
• Creation of test plans, test management
• Fault and risk management
• Evaluation and implementation of suitable test tools
• Documentation of the aforesaid points

Your qualifications:

• University degree in computer science or training in the area of IT
• Skilled in programming and scripting under Windows (e.g. Windows Scripting, AutoIt, Perl, C or C++, HTML, PHP, SQL)
• Very good experience in Windows environments or OS in general (Mac / Unix)
• Experience with networks and network protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, UDP, SMTP, FTP, POP3)
• Ability to adapt complex issues quickly
• High customer and service orientation
• Team player
• Independence, initiative, and organizational ability
• Good communication skills
• Very good written and spoken German and English

Desirable additional skills:

• Certification as an ISTQB Certified Tester or similar
• Experience in software development and/or quality assurance/test automation, preferably in the IT security sector
• Knowledge and experience of test methods and test processes
• Skilled in the area of Windows security (e.g. Firewall, Antivirus, Antispam, Anti-Rootkit, network security)
