Working student/ intern (m/f) for machine translation project

The Avira localization team is looking for support in the conceptualization, development and implementation of an R & D project. This entails distributing machine translation software (Moses) on a central TMS system. Supplementary developments to this project and other additions welcome.

Your tasks:

• Reviewing and assessing data and the processing architecture for MT
• Identifying and resolving potential technical and workflow issues
• Optimizing and linguistic cleansing of MT training data
• Creating a stable server architecture for MT processing
• Establishing a post-editing environment
• Expanding the MT engine for additional applications

Interested in:

• Computational Linguistics/NLP
• Software localization
• Software translation
• Localization and translation workflows

Your qualifications:

• Advanced programming skills in Python, Ruby
• Experience in database management and maintenance is desired
• Expertise in Natural Language Processing, statistical machine translation and translation management systems (TMS) is an advantage
• Proactive, creative and able to work independently
• Good analytical and conceptualization skills
• Team-oriented
• Reliable
• Fluency in German and English is a plus
